Ali Nobil Ahmad is an interdisciplinary social scientist, journalist and consultant with interests in migration, political ecology, film and media. He has published widely and worked as a practitioner in each of these fields, most recently as a policy specialist at the Heinrich Boll Foundation. His teaching spans History, Sociology, Film and Media Studies. Some of his academic publications are listed here. Ali has worked at leading universities, research centres, foundations and thinktanks in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States. He received a PhD in History from the European University Institute in Florence and is a former recipient of The Guardian’s Scott Trust bursary for journalists.
