Aezaz Hussain
Mr. Aezaz Hussain founded Systems Limited in 1977 as the first software house in Pakistan. His professional acumen provided the overall direction for turnkey computer projects involving installation, and the planning and management of large-scale industrial projects. Within the organisation, he has been responsible for the internal restructuring needed to respond to periodic shifts in the Company's strategy.
Mr. Hussain was the CEO of Visionet Systems, Inc. in New Jersey, USA till 2008 and he is currently the Chairman for both Visionet Systems and Systems Limited. His main role is the development of enterprise strategy. He was a member of Pakistan's Information Technology Commission, which advised the President of Pakistan on IT-related matters and national policies. He has been a member of a number of committees and advisory bodies set up by the government on Information Technology strategies and on the development of public-sector information systems. He was a founding member and the founding President of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). He served as a member of the Economic Advisory Board, Government of Pakistan, the Information Technology Commission of Pakistan, and the Council of Computer Society of Pakistan
July 12 - Evening Ceremony

Kamila Shamsie
Ms. Kamila Shamsie is the author of eight novels, including Best of Friends, Burnt Shadows, Kartography and Home Fire, which have been translated into over 30 languages. Home Fire won the Women’s Prize for Fiction and was long listed for the Booker Prize. Four of her novels have won awards from the Pakistan Academy of Letters. She has received fellowships from Oxford University and Princeton University, honorary degrees from the Universities of Exeter and York in the UK and Hamilton College in the US, in addition to to her MFA in creative writing from the University of Massachusetts. She was previously Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Manchester and is now the inaugural Writer-in-Residence at Georgetown University in Qatar. A Vice-President of the Royal Society of Literature in London and the recipient of a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, she grew up in Karachi, and now lives in London and in Doha.
🎓 Valedictorians

Jovera Shakeel
Jovera is an exceptional Economics and Mathematics student from the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences. A Dean’s Honour List scholar throughout her time at LUMS, she led her team to first place at the 2025 LUMS Economics Conference. In 2020, she received a UNDP grant to launch Mukhtalif, a non-profit e-commerce platform for marginalised artisans. She has presented her research at the 6th International Congress of Applied Statistics at Ankara University and the IBA SBS International Conference. Jovera will pursue an MSc in Economics for Development at Oxford as the Rhodes Scholar-Elect 2025 for Pakistan.

Aizaz Arif
A committed advocate for justice and public service, Aizaz is graduating with a law degree from the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law. As Editor of the LUMS Law Journal, he launched Pakistan’s first online case commentaries project and organised the inaugural Young Scholars’ Workshop. He led research on bonded labour and student union rights through the LUMS Student Policy Research Initiative, and was part of the inaugural LUMS Law Clinic cohort, providing pro bono legal aid. Aizaz has won five major national and international moot competitions, including the 47th Concours Jean-Pictet in Indonesia, and plans to pursue a career in constitutional and public interest litigation in Pakistan.
